Gary Ng was born and raised in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. He is currently a frequent face in the University of Malaya, busy pursuing his Bachelor of Architecture (Part 2). He is also an alumni of UCSI University, where he completed his Bachelor of Science In Architectural Studies (Part 1).

As in architecture: backgrounds, lines, patterns, symmetries, light and shadows plays an important role, to a point of a spiritual experience. These elements can often be seen incorporated in his images to create depth and substance.

Starting at the age of 16, he is a self-taught photographer whom now specialises in creating images of the performing arts. It started in 2009 when he captured his first photos at a dance competition. The beautiful movements, incredible lighting and amazing choreography took his breath away.

His most notable achievements till date was being featured in an interview with R.AGE, The Star. Then, becoming a finalist for the title of “Photo-creator of the year” themed “Seni (Art) & The City” at the prestigious Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival (KLPF) 2012 and later on he was invited as a speaker for KLPF 2013, where he gave a talk on “The Performing Arts”.

He had worked with many companies and institutes including Batu Dance Theatre, Kwang Tung Dance Company (KTDC), Team 聚团, Dance Space, DPAC Dance Company, JS Concert, Magic Bean Dance, Goethe-Institut Malaysia and the KL Japan Foundation. Apart from those, he had also shot concerts with notable international artists including CNBlue, George Benson and One Republic.
