Gary Ng is a Kuala Lumpur boy, born and raised in the capital of Malaysia. These days, he can be frequently seen in the University of Malaya, busy pursuing his Bachelor of Architecture. He is also an alumni of UCSI University, where he completed his Bachelor of Science In Architectural Studies.
In architecture: backgrounds, lines, patterns, symmetries, light and shadows play a very important role, almost spiritual. These items can often be seen incorporated in his images to create substance and depth.
Starting at the tender age of 16, Gary Ng is a self-taught photographer whom now specialises in creating images of the performing arts. It all started in 2009 when he was capturing photos at a dance competition as an audience. The beautiful movements, incredible lighting and amazing choreography took his breath away.
His most notable achievements till date was being featured in an interview with R.AGE, The Star. Then, becoming a finalist for the title of “Photo-creator of the year” themed “Seni (Art) & The City” at the prestigious Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival (KLPF) 2012 and finally giving a talk as a speaker in KLPF 2013 titled “The Performing Arts”.
He had worked with many companies and institutes including Batu Dance Theatre, Kwang Tung Dance Company (KTDC), Team 聚团, Dance Space, DPAC Dance Company, JS Concert, Goethe-Institut Malaysia and Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur. Apart from those, he had also shot concerts with notable international artists including the Korean band, CNBlue, George Benson and One Republic.
